Miami announces 18 of the Last 9 honorees

KATHRYN WERNER ’10 AMONG RECIPIENTS OF ANNUAL AWARD GIVEN TO OUTSTANDING RECENT ALUMNI

The Miami University Alumni Association is excited to announce this year’s exceptional alumni who have been named as 18 of the Last 9 Award recipients for 2019.

This year’s honorees include Kathryn Werner, CEO of Impact Partners!

Based on the popular “30 under 30” model, the program is sponsored by the alumni association and recognizes 18 remarkable Miami alumni from the past nine years. Selected from a pool of more than 140 nominees, the 2019 recipients exhibit accomplishments and demonstrated passions in fields ranging from entrepreneurship and politics to medicine and education.

“Each year we are so impressed with how much our graduates have achieved in such a relatively short time,” said Kim Tavares MBA ’12, executive director of the alumni association. “However, this program is more than recognizing professional accomplishment. It celebrates Miamians who exemplify the Miami tradition of Love and Honor to make a difference in the world.”

Honorees will return to campus Oct. 3-4 as they speak in classrooms, meet with student groups and reconnect with faculty. The 18 of the Last 9 Award ceremony is Oct. 4.

Nominations for this annual event come from throughout the Miami community and focus on alumni who have started a business, been recognized in their field or made a significant influence on a movement. Started in 2013, this is the seventh edition of the 18 of the Last 9 award.

Congratulate the honorees on social media using the hashtag #18of9.
